Rimessa Roscioli Tasting Room Takes Over Rome
Taste Italy’s Best Wine in the Heart of Rome
Where does Anthony Bourdain drink wine when he visits Rome? That would be Rimessa Roscioli, a quaint, informal yet relaxing space, where they offer wine tasting experiences and seminars. At their group tasting dinners, their bread and butter, you can experience the flavors of different regions of Italy interpreted by their team of professional sommeliers. In these tastings, you will learn the stories and history of each wine and region, and even watch videos of the winemakers personally explaining their process, in a virtual private tour.
Rimessa’s top-sommelier, Alessandro Pope, describes the Rimessa project:
“I decided to create an educational and convivial lab related to the world of wine and food, involving studies, courses and wine tasting, and, I confess, even to have fun with wine lovers and friends.”
A few of our advisors were lucky enough to have a private tasting with Lindsey, an employee of Rimessa who is originally from Santa Barbara. It was held at a local Santa Barbara wine bar, and due to the limited resources we had cheese pairings instead of their typical 12 paired foods which usually includes artisan cheeses, meats, a traditional Roman plate of pasta, and a small homemade dessert. Even without the 12 courses, the tasting blew us all away.
