Santa Barbara Travel visited the property in early March and is ecstatic to share our experience. The perfect mix of light showers and sunshine paired with the shockingly impressive view from our room and memorable service created an experience we never wanted to leave.
Las Alcobas Napa Valley lies adjacent to the vineyards of Beringer Estate, providing a breathtaking view to its guests. Our stay was an effortless experience from start to finish. It began with a seamless arrival with complimentary valet. The check-in process was intimate and cozy, we were able to sit down in comfy chairs instead of standing up at a reservation desk. Afterwards, we were escorted to our room by the reservations manager coupled with a quick tour of the property and an explanation of our room controls and inclusions. Our personal favorite: complimentary fresh-ground french press coffee each morning.
Our initial impression of the room was breathtaking. We really had no words except, "wow". Our entry-level room was extremely spacious, complete with a washroom, a bathroom, a large bedroom, and a walk-out deck furnished with plush rocking chairs and a stone fire pit. The room was very private, we couldn't see anything but vineyards from our deck (it felt like you could walk right out and pick the grapes yourself!) The room was our absolute favorite part of the trip, we never wanted to leave. In fact, on Saturday morning we attempted to go wine tasting but ended up purchasing a bottle and returning to enjoy it on our deck - fire pit allumé. Since the weather was chilly with intermittent showers, it seemed like the perfect decision at the time - and no regrets there. Our room alone was a retreat, with complete privacy and comfort surrounding us. Las Alcobas bedrooms all come with Rivolta Carmignani linens, a 60'' flatscreen TV, delicate soft throws, and custom designed furnishings from Italian designer Casa Zeta. Our room was over 550 square feet with marble & stone bathrooms complete with a soaking tub and a glass enclosed Italian-tile rain shower. Room service is available, and daily turn-down service.
unforgettable acacia house
The first night of our stay, we were relieved to have a restaurant on property as we felt like relaxing at the hotel. Lucky for us, the restaurant happened to be a concept by Chris Cosentino, winner of Top Chef Masters and a competitor on The Next Iron Chef. Needless to say, the experience was phenomenal. From the moment we walked into the restaurant without a reservation (through the back door mind you), we were immediately greeted and escorted to the hostess stand. After a courteous offer to take our coats and hang them, the hostess was able to make room for us at a beautiful table looking into the open-kitchen. We started off with cocktails, including the Margarita Las Alcobas as a recommendation from our server. Served up and topped with salt foam, it was the perfect start to our dinner. We then went on to enjoy a Hamachi Crudo starter, before we indulged in our 30-day aged New York steak topped with escargot and a black-strap molasses reduction with peppercorn. This dish was life-changing, large enough for two to share.
