Traveling as a Vegan is not an easy feat, and oftentimes plant-based travelers will run into many obstacles during their journey. The hospitality and tourism industry needs to start adapting to the growing needs of plant-based individuals, and one hotel has set the bar for the rest. UK’s Hilton London Bankside has recently launched the world’s first all-vegan luxury suite to cater to the rapidly growing market of ethically-conscious travellers. The Hilton partnered with Bompas & Parr, experts in multi-sensory design, to launch the suite concept.

Eco check-in

Guests will be able to enjoy the vegan experience as soon as they walk in the hotel doors. The Vegan Suite check-in desk is designed to ensure the vegan experience is uninterrupted throughout the stay. Guests will be greeted with upholstered Piñatex* seating and botanical artwork before being given their Piñatex room key.

*piñatex is a natural leather made from the cellulose fibres extracted from the leaves of pineapples.

Everything in the room was thoughtfully planned out for a complete plant-based experience, including the bedding, floors and furniture. Instead of goose down pillows, you will find Buckwheat pillows made with 100% organic buckwheat hulls, Kapok pillows made from natural kapok, Millet pillows made with organic millet husks, Orthopedic memory foam pillows made with bamboo shredded fibre, and Anti-Allergy Foam pillows, made with 100% recycled polyester. These options can be found in your in-room pillow menu, which you can use to order the ones you want. The room exudes luxury with it’s hand-embroidered Piñatex leather headboard and stylish, solid stone-grey flooring made out of 100% renewable & sustainable Moso Bamboo.

Vegan travelers will never go hungry, not at this hotel. When you book the Vegan Suite you will have access to a complete plant-based mini-bar, stocked with locally-sourced vegan treats including Graze protein power, Nakd fruit and nut snacks, and Deliciously Ella energy balls in a variety of flavors.

Need something more than a snack? The hotel has worked intensively with their culinary team to create a vegan-inspired in-room dining menu. You can find breakfast, lunch & dinner options such as muesli, grilled Portobello mushroom, and cauliflower steak. If you would like a change of ambiance, the hotel’s full-service restaurants, OXBO Bankside and The Distillery, offer specially curated vegan menus.

To complete the vegan experience, the suite features PRIJA ginseng, earthly hotel toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner and essentials such as a shower cap, vanity and nail kit (all made with recycled packaging). Vegan business travelers need not fret, as the suite’s desk comes with stationery from notepads, pens and pencils which all have zero traces of animal in the paper or ink. To tie it all together, the hotel made sure to upgrade their housekeeping trolleys to include eco-friendly products such as Method’s range of nature inspired cleaning products, which are non-toxic and most importantly, not tested on animals, and all of your linen will be washed with environmentally friendly detergent.
