Where To Travel When The Time Is Right

By June 2, 2020No Comments
Now that we have some extra time on our hands, why not plan a celebratory breakout trip for the day that we can take to the skies again. We would never endorse traveling at a time like this or against any safety precautions. However, we know we are all itching to get out and now more than ever feel a need to travel. You can still schedule trips in advance for the future or wait until restrictions are minimized and you are comfortable again. Whatever you’d like to do we’d like to offer our experience and insight to help you choose where to jet off to! So here are a few places for you to roam around the world or take a little more time discovering our country’s beautiful lands.

South Africa

South Africa has so many attractions that draw people to its beautiful coastlines and national parks. African safaris will always be a good idea. Explore Sabi Sands Game Reserve or Kruger National Park and have a once in a lifetime experience with the most beautiful wildlife in their natural habitats. We work with the world-leading Singita Lodges a Conde Nast Traveller and Travel + Leisure winner every year, as well as Micato Safaris and African Travel to create personalized trips.
Many people also come to South Africa to surf, with some of the best spots in the world including Jeffrey’s Bay to watch competitions or catch waves all day long. You can take a day excursion, or a few days, and stay at Sir Richard Branson’s Mont Rochelle to explore the vineyards and culinary scene.

Nashville, Tennessee

If you need a quick getaway after being sequestered and are ready to bolt, Nashville just might satisfy that urge. Not too far of a plane ride and not too expensive, a city that brings music to life and offers up a good time to be had for all. There is plenty of sightseeing and food tasting to fill your days. You can visit the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame. With fun trendy new hotels to stay at and live music to fill your nights you can’t go wrong with a long weekend trip to Tennessee.

LisboN, Portugal

Portugal is one of the smaller countries in Western Europe but it may have the biggest heart of them all. Lisbon, the country’s capital is an exciting city filled with hills and colorful neighborhoods each showcasing their own charm.  From Alfama, the old town (which is the only area that stayed intact after the 1755 earthquake, tsunami and fires), Chiado, the central hub Bairro Alto, a quarter full of nightlife and traditional Fado music, Belem, where the original pastel de nata are made, and Baixa, the downtown area bustling with shops, museums, bars and cafes are just a few. Because the city has such a varying topography, there are look-out points all over, where will find many with a glass of wine at sunset. Lisbon is also a great launching point to visit other cities and towns throughout the country.

Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is an island off the coast of Massachusetts that has a little bit of everything for the whole family. All of the fresh seafood that you could possibly dream of and magical sunsets make for the perfect summer nights. The island offers the best of the East Coast just a 30-minute plane ride from Boston. There are quaint towns such as Edgartown, Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs with shopping, bars, restaurants, yacht clubs, and unique daily activities. If you want a little more peace and quiet Chilmark, West Tisbury and Aquinnah and the areas to head to. No matter where you are there is a beach and a full day in the waves or catching crab waiting for you.

Florence, Italy

When we get through this Italy is going to need our help more than ever. One thing we can do that will truly help is to travel and stimulate their economy, that relies heavily on tourism. This will also be a greattime to take advantage of smaller crowds and discounted rates. Firenze (Florence) located in the heart of Tuscany, a beautiful city that is normally filled with tourists will be the perfect place to visit. Firenze is home to many historical treasures including the statue of David, the Duomo Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore,  and the Uffizi Galleries. While also not lacking in the most indulgent food, and wine that you will be sneaking as many cases on the plane home as possible. From leather markets to gelaterias, afternoon spritz’s and morning strolls along the Arno River, there is so much to make you smile and never want to leave Italy.  The Italian people bring laughter, heart and light to everything they do and create.

The Caribbean Islands

Another area of the world that will need our help is the Caribbean. After being ravaged by several hurricanes many of these islands were just getting back on their feet before the pandemic spread. Luckily this isn’t a natural disaster and the new building and reopening of hotels and restaurants will still be moving forward when travel is safe again. St. Barts, St Thomas, Anguilla, Dominica, and Grenada are just a few destinations taht offer warm sandy beaches to relax and have a mai tai. We are all going to need to de-stress after these weeks so why not do a lie and fly while helping communities at the same time.
